KATIE WATERS she/her

My passion for Foley started during my post production classes at Columbia College Chicago. After graduation, I freelanced as a Foley Artist which led me to majority of my collaboration and sounds being recorded at Noisefloor, a Chicago audio facility that specializes in sound and music for film, commercials, video games, podcasts (scripted and non-scripted), TV series, web series, podcasts and audiobooks, where I currently work full time at as a Foley Artist. I am the Foley Artist for the game cinematic sound team for Destiny 2, who's work was nominated twice for a MPSE Golden Reel Award (most recent year 2022) and also nominated twice for the G.A.N.G. awards (most recent year 2022).

I have performed Foley for feature films, video games, short films, TV & web series, and supervised sound on films. When I am not performing Foley, I enjoy cueing or spotting Foley, editing Foley, and editing backgrounds soundscapes. I'm on the look out at antique stores and garage sales for anything that makes a unique sound to add to our prop collection. When I start a project, it's necessary for me to immerse myself into the world the characters are living in in order to deliver the absolute best sound to slide right in as a layer of the soundtrack.

I'm an active member of the Motion Picture Sound Editor's (MPSE) organization, one that strives to celebrate community, and the creative and technical advances in sound.
